    Another feather in Jamia Prof Naved’s cap

    The University of Melbourne, Australia has extended an invitation to Prof Naved Iqbal, Department of Psychology, Jamia Millia Islamia, to be an Honorary Principal Fellow for three years.

    Prof Iqbal has accepted the invitation and under this role, he will be involved with the research and teaching at the Centre for Wellbeing Science in Melbourne Graduate School of Education, the University of Melbourne.

    According to the QS World University Rankings 2022, the University of Melbourne is at the second place among the top universities in Australia and 37th position in the world.

    Earlier, in September 2021, Prof Iqbal was awarded the prestigious “Directors of Associated Studies” (DEA) programme-2021 by the International Foundation of the House of Human Sciences, France.

    Under this programme, he was invited for a research stay in France to understand the perspective of French Mental Health professionals on child maltreatment and child protection and subsequently compare it with Indian mental health professionals on the same issue.

    University of Tours, France had also invited him to deliver lectures related to child maltreatment and its negative impact on mental health.

    He also secured Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) visiting fellowship-2019 of the University of Leicester (UK) and a number of other international grants & research projects.

    Prof Iqbal has so far authored three books, more than 75 research papers in national and international journals, 10 paper/chapters in books and presented about 50 papers in seminars & conferences.
