Covid positive: The latest on Prof Wasey’s health from hospital
It was on Sunday when the OT reported about Padma Shri Professor Akhtarul Wasey testing Covid-19 positive and being rushed to hospital for treatment after talking with his son.
On Monday in the follow up report, the OT reached his family members to find out about Prof Wasey’s well-being.
It is understood that Prof Wasey, who was admitted to ICU of Holy Family Hospital Covid section is responding well to treatment, according to a family source. He told the OT over phone that doctors have said that Prof Wasey will be moved to the ward tomorrow following improvement in his condition.
Prof Wasey is currently president of Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur. Before joining MAU, Prof Wasey used to teach Islamic studies at Jamia Millia Islamia and remains professor emeritus in the Department of Islamic Studies.
