Drive against posters, banners continue; 500 removed, team reaches Sarita Vihar

SDMC today carried a massive sanitation drive under which garbage/waste were removed from over 100 markets in Najafgarh Zone, South Zone, Central Zone and West Zone. A large number of traders, shopkeepers, SDMC safai sainiks and local people participated in the drive.

A message to avoid ‘use of plastic’ was also spread through the drive. Litter Picker machines were also used to remove garbage from these markets. Besides this, 500 posters and banners were also removed from these markets.

Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission Rajiv Jain said SDMC is making special efforts to improve its ranking in Swachh Survekshan-2021.

Today Special Sanitation Drive was carried in all four Zones in which Punjabi Bagh Central Market, Rajouri Garden Main Market, Janakpuri DDA Market, Vikaspuri PVR Market, Rajnagar Market, Dwarka Sector 6, 10, 12, 19, Kapashera, Mahipalpur, Sadh Nagar, Green Park Main Market, Hauzkhas Main Market, Aurbindo Market, Motibagh Market, Munirka, Saket, Daryaganj Market, Andrews Ganj Market, Sarita Vihar, Amar Colony and Defence Colony Market are prominent.

He said to ensure sanitation of key markets, there is more focus on night sweeping Safai Sainiks have been assigned night duties and even on Saturday and Sunday. He said  traders, shopkeepers and local people are also being roped in so they could be aware about Swachh Survekshan-2021.
