Petrol price cut by Rs 8/litre in Delhi, Kejriwal govt cuts VAT on petrol

Petrol price in Delhi is to get cheaper by Rs 8 after the Delhi Cabinet decided to cut VAT on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.4 per cent, reported the media on Wednesday.

    — Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) December 1, 2021

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi are cheap now than NCR and other cities. I hope that with this move, Delhiites will get some relief from inflation.”

From midnight today, vehicle users can buy petrol in Delhi by Rs 8 cheaper.

On the eve of Diwali this year, the Centre cut excise duty by Rs 5 per litre on petrol and Rs 10 per litre on diesel to bring down the retail prices across the country.

Several States have already cut VAT on petrol and diesel.
