2,193 residents of unauthorised colonies granted ownership rights: DDA

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation, in order to ensure hassle-free process of conferring ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies, organised a training cum awareness programme about PM–Unauthorised Colony in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojna (PM-UDAY) scheme at Civic Centre.

Leader of the House Narendra Chawla, Deputy Mayor Subhash Bhadana, SDMC councillors from many wards, Additional Commissioner Ramesh Verma and officials from PM-UDAY Cell of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) attended the programme in which the whole process of filing application at PM-UDAY portal to completion of process was discussed.

As per the DDA officials, 3,51,191 persons have registered, 42,167 applications have been filed under the scheme and 2,193 ownership rights have been conferred to the residents of unauthorised colonies in Delhi till the programme was conducted.

Participants were also informed about the benefits that the residents of the unauthorised colonies will get after the conferment of ownership rights.

Bhadana asked councillors to facilitate the applicants in their respective wards so they could not face difficulty during the process of getting ownership rights.

He said thousands of residents from unauthorised colonies are getting ownership rights through the scheme launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi hence SDMC councillors and DDA officials should ensure proper coordination for smooth execution of the scheme.

During the programme, DDA officials said the processing of applications in PM-PUDAY is completely on-line. Applicants have to register on the DDA Portal and file an on-line application for ownership rights. They can contact designated GIS Agencies that will conduct a GIS Survey of their plots and upload the same on the portal directly. Deficiencies, if any, are communicated on-line to the applicants, and the Applicants can reply the same in on-line mode only. Lastly, upon confirmation by the DDA, the applicant can make on-line payment of charges. They are required to visit the processing center only once (in the end) for execution of the conveyance deed / authorisation slip.

PM – Unauthorised Colony in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojna (PM-UDAY) scheme was launched on 29.10.2019 to confer ownership rights to residents of 1731 unauthorised colonies.
