    MANUU holds students union poll, here are winners: When will Jamia hold students union election?

    Mohd Mursaleen, student of MCA, Dept. of CS&IT, has been elected as 9th President of Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s Students Union (MSU) today in the elections held for the academic year 2021-22.

    Students voted with enthusiasm right from the beginning of polling at 8.00 am which continued till 12.00 noon at Indoor Stadium, MANUU Campus and also at off campuses of the University.

    The Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem declared the results late in the evening. The elections were peaceful and students turned up in large numbers for electing their representatives, he said. Out of total 3446 voters, 66 percent students cast their votes at headquarters.

    According to Prof. Azeem, Md. Abu Hamza, (Dept. of Management & Commerce) elected for the post of Vice President, Mohd. Haris, (Dept. of CS&IT) for Secretary, Anam Jahan (Dept. of MCJ) for Joint Secretary and Waqar Ahmad (Dept. of Management & Commerce) elected for the post of Treasurer.

    Four Executive Committee Members one each from School of Languages, Linguistics & Indology, Education & Training, Journalism & Mass Communication and Polytechnic Hyderabad were also elected today. The remaining 18 EC Members were elected unopposed.

    Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor congratulated the newly elected office bearers. Prof. SM Rahmatullah, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar also extended their warm greetings to the new team.

    Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf, Dean, Student’s Welfare was assigned the responsibility to address election related grievances in today’s election.Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, School of Arts & Social Sciences and Prof. Ehtesham Ahmed Khan, Dean, School of Mass Communication & Journalism were election observers. Thirty three faculty members were appointed as counting officers to count the casted votes.

    The investiture ceremony for winners would be conducted on April 4.
