This year around its sudden price rise has left residents of Okhla deeply upset as the price is squeezing their pocket.

A resident said the price of leman varies from locality to locality in Okhla. If in Batla House fresh lemons are being sold for Rs 100 for 250 grams in Abul Fazal Enclave one can buy 250 grams for Rs 80 to 70 and it all depends on the quality and its freshness, said a resident.

He said a week before Ramzan it was being sold at Rs 40 or 50 per 250 grams and now suddenly the price has hit the roof leaving residents further burdened as prices of other vegetables and fruits have gone up.

A shopkeeper said lemons are not coming and due to sudden heat wave and Ramzan its demand has gone up. Many residents lamented that prices of fruits in Okhla too have gone up like every year during the month of fasting.
