Dusty car artist’s moving tribute to Kamal Khan

When a legendary and award-winning journalist Kamal Khan, who was with the NDTV in UP and a household name for many news guzzlers across the world and a role model for young journalists, died of heart attack at his home in Lucknow on January 14, tributes poured in from across India and the world.

If some shared condolence messages on the social media, the media wrote and published his obituaries and well-known sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tribute by making a sand sculpture of 61-year-old Khan on Odisha beach, then in Okhla a Jamia Millia Islamia student Lateef Hussain paid tribute to the iconic journalist in very unique way only covered by the OT.

The tribute was so unique that since the posting of the video on the OT Facebook page, it has gone viral with netizens appreciating Lateef for painting Khan’s portrait on dusty car parked in Okhla Vihar.
Lateef is doing MFA from Jamia and wants to become a painter.

What made Khan stand out in the crowd of TV journalists was his mastery over language and his storytelling was such that it left many watchers mesmerized.

Khan did is PG in English literature and also, studied Russian Philology (Russian language and literature) from Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia.)

Khan has left behind a son and a journalist wife.
