    Jamia School felicitates student achievers Arifa, Irsha

    Jamia School felicitates student achievers Arifa, Irsha

    A Felicitation Ceremony was held in the Multi Purpose Hall of Jamia Senior Secondary School, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) to honour the meritorious students and faculty of the school on Friday, 19th April 2024.

    Dr Mohd. Arshad Khan, Principal, JSSS welcomed the guests and introduced the students who were being felicitated in various fields. After the welcome speech the students from class X namely Arifa Shahab and Irsha Parveen who were selected in a prestigious scholarship program offered by the AFS were welcomed along with their parents with bouquets and mementos.

    Dr. Ataur Rahman, Lecturer Chemistry and Hayat Alam, Lecturer Economics were also felicitated for completing their pre-commissioned (PRCN) courses in the NCC- a rigorous training which took more than a month. Sumaiya from class Xll recited a beautiful poem by Allama Iqbal encouraging the students to be diligent learners and reformers.

    Shahid Ridad Hasan from class Xll was also presented a memento for winning a National level essay competition organized by Khusro Foundation. He has received a prize of INR 30000.

    Arifa Shahab and Irsha Parveen also took to the stage and expressed their deepest emotions and motivated the students to do better in life. All the guests addressed the students and motivated them to aim higher.

    Prof. Eqbal Hussain, Officiating Vice chancellor, JMI was the Chief Guest of the function. Prof. Sara Begum, Dean, Faculty of Education, JMI, Prof. Asif Husain, In-charge, Building Department, JMI and Hina Saifi from American Field Service (AFS) were the guests of honour. The ceremony started with the recitation of the holy Qur’an.
