2020 Delhi riots: Ishrat, daughter-in-law of Parvez Hashmi, granted bail
Former Congress Councillor Ishrat Jahan was granted bail today in the case concerning the larger conspiracy behind the Delhi riots of February 2020. Following which many Okhla resident shared the info on their timeline.
Ishrat is daughter-in-law of former Okhla Congress MLA Parvez Hashmi.
Lawyer Anwar Siddiqui wrote on his timeline a few minutes ago that Ishrat (BA, LLB) will be released from the jail after almost two years. Ishrat is first in her family to join politics and became councillor from Ghondhi of East Delhi in 2012, he wrote, adding that her win was unique in the sense that it is not Muslim-dominated area and before that no Congress leader has ever won election from there.
