    9 km roadsides, footpaths made free from illegal encroachment

    The SDMC’S Central Zone has taken major action against illegal encroachment. During the course of action, nearly 9 kilometres roadsides and footpaths were made free from illegal encroachment.

    Additionally, 80 permanent and temporary structures were dismantled and 45 articles were seized.

    In Central Zone, ESI Hospital to Tehkhand Village Road, D-Block MCD Store to Railway Road Tehkhand Village, Surj Kund Road, MB Road to Lal Kuan and both sides of Prahladpur road were made free from illegal encroachment. During the drive, Traffic Police also seized 2 vehicles and 15 challans were issued, it said.

    Deputy Commissioner of Central Zone Radha Krishan said regular efforts are being made at Zonal level to remove encroachment which is illegal and complex in nature from roadsides, footpaths, etc.

    To facilitate movements of pedestrians, footpaths are being made free from occupancy. He said such actions will be taken in Central Zone to make the area clean and encroachment free.
