What happened to Rs 2.5-lakh goat with name of Allah ‘inscribed’ on it?

A goat with name of Allah “inscribed” on it and priced at Rs 2.5 lakh has failed to impress Okhlaiites. Following which, according to other goat owners, the man who was selling the “prized animal” has now moved to Jama Masjid to try his luck and attract buyers.

It was only a few days ago when the OT had reported about the highly priced not so big goat in Dhobi Ghat Mandi. The owner, who came from Rajasthan, said then that a resident was offering him Rs 1 lakh for the goat but he declined the offer as he wanted Rs 2.5 lakh for it.

On Friday, a few residents who visited the goat mandi said they were told by other goat traders that the owner of the most expensive goat till has now moved to Jama Masjid to try his luck. They said they could spot the owner of Rs 2.5 lakh goat in the crowd.

Come Eid-Al-Adha, goat traders from neighbouring states visit Batla House to sell their animals. This year too the bakra mandi residents are turning up at Dhobi Ghat to buy animals for quarbani with Eid-Al-Adha to be celebrated on June 29. Residents who have been visiting the mandi said this year the price is high. It is expected that as the festival comes closer more goat traders will come with more animals bringing down the price of goats.
