Former Jamia student dies in road accident, 2 critically hurt
A pall of gloom enveloped the corridors of Jamia Millia Islamia’s Department of Management Studies (DMS) on Thursday as news spread that one of its former students had lost her life in a road accident in Noida.
Teachers and alumni struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss of a young life that had once been full of ambition and promise.

“Gulfisha was our student and worked in ICICI Bank. DMS is shocked by her tragic accident and expresses heartfelt condolences,” read a message that quickly began circulating on social media and alumni groups. For many at Jamia, the name was not just another headline but a familiar face from classrooms, presentations, group discussions and long hours spent preparing for a professional future.
According to a media report, the fatal accident took place on Thursday in Noida’s Sector 71, where a speeding car rammed into a divider. Gulfisha died in the crash, while two others travelling with her sustained life-threatening injuries. The injured have been identified as Murtaza Abbas, a resident of New Delhi, and Anushka Chaudhary from Mathura. Police said all three occupants of the car were bank employees.
Gulfisha, a native of Bareilly, was working at a bank in Delhi and had been steadily building her career after graduating from Jamia. On the day of the accident, she and her colleagues were travelling from Delhi to Noida when their car reportedly went out of control near Sector 71 and crashed into the divider with great force.

Murtaza Abbas and Anushka Chaudhary are currently undergoing treatment, and their condition is said to be serious. The police have seized the car involved in the accident and sent Gulfisha’s body for post-mortem examination. Her family has been informed, and further investigation into the incident is underway. Police officials said that no complaint has been received so far.
