Alleged scamsters dished out at least 400 fake test results after beginning this fraud on April 23, reported the Hindustan Times and dailies quoting Atul Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).

Among those arrested included two lab technicians and an application scientist.

In a statement to the media, the police said complainants were residents of Khirki Extension and police acted after they were contacted.

The complainant stated that in April he, along with around 45 relatives, had given their sample for Covid testing in a lab. Each of them was given a false report, said the DCP.

It has been reported that the accused, who used to collect home samples, would print the result on the fake letter of a lab.

A case of cheating and criminal conspiracy at Malviya Nagar police station has been registered.

Further investigation is going on, said the police.
