    Empower physically challenged at Jamia

To empower physically challenged wheelchair students of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a 3-Wheel E-Vehicle was today launched by the Officiating Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eqbal Hussain at Nehru Guest House of the university. The e–wheelchair vehicle was provided to JMI under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Yali Mobility, Chennai and will be very helpful for more than 200 physically challenged students. The wheelchair user can fully control the speed, direction and movement of the wheelchair without the need for an outside person to push the wheelchair

The Centre for Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSEIP), JMI has been helpful in mediating this venture as it has a mandate of promoting inclusiveness of marginalised sections of the society, including women, minorities, differently-abled and transgenders.
