The Delhi CM emphasised the government’s dedication by calling a special assembly session to increase the budget allocated for pensions.

Kejriwal urged the retirees to keep faith in him, assuring them that he would safeguard their pension rights and ensure they receive their rightful dues.

Kejriwal addressed the retired DTC employees regarding the transfer of outstanding pensions to retired DTC employees. “I know that many of you are annoyed. Anger arises only from those close to us, and your anger is justified. From the last 1-1.5 years, you’re facing troubles in receiving your pensions,” he said.

The CM said: “In 2015, our government was formed, and before that to get your pension you used to face a lot of hardships. The previous government said that if the DTC employees want a pension, then the DTC should generate its funds. The DTC couldn’t generate funds since it didn’t have funds. Since we assumed power, we started giving you pension from the Delhi Government’s budget. And since the DTC employees were receiving their pensions each month without any interruptions. For the last one to 1.5 years of the troubles that you are facing regarding that, I seek your apology.”

The Chief Minister further stated that he holds himself responsible for all the grievances of retired DTC employees. “I will fix all the things. A few days ago, I went to a village and met a few retired DTC employees and conveyed that if they consider me as their son, then they have every right to get angry with me. I assured them to get their pensions at any cost. For this, there was a shortage of budget, and we called a special assembly session to increase the budget for your pension. And now we have released all your outstanding pensions and credited them to your accounts. So, I apologise for any mistakes and errors.”
