Jamia Hamdard alumnus Dr Yaseen dies in road accident, medical students’ body mourns his death

The death of a Resident Doctor in a road accident in Delhi is being mourned in the virtual world. All India Medical Students’ Association tweeted: “#RIP Dr Yaseen Abbasi. Yesterday a bus ran over him while he was going for his duty at ESI hospital Okhla, Delhi. After battling he lost his life today at 8 am at Apollo hospital.”

The AIMSA president told the OT that he did his MBBS from Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and he was on his way to the hospital on his scooty.

He said his body is being brought to his hometown in Rajasthan for tadfeen.

Dr Faizan, national vice president of AIMSA and batchmate of the deceased said: “Dr Yaseen was a resident doctor and he was staying in Okhla. We studied MBBS together at Jamia Hamdard in 2013. He was 29 years old. We got information about the incident on Friday. We were asked to come to Apollo where he was being treated for his injuries sustained during the accident. We reached Apollo. Three operations were done on him and he couldn’t be saved.”

Dr Yaseen has left behind a wife and three children.
