In a WhatsApp group, message started circulating that the list is out. But it turned out to be fake one. On Sunday morning words started spreading with YouTubers calling the OT to know whether former Okhla MLA Asif Md Khan’s daughter is also in the race.

They said the party is ready to give ticket to Asif for Councillor but the bargain is going on and hence the list has been delayed, something that the OT couldn’t authenticate.

The OT contacted Khan to know the fact and he said: “I am not interested nor I am asking for ticket for my daughter.” On being asked whether the party has offered him to contest the civic poll, he said the leadership has told him to make the final decision. “I have told them to make whatever decision they want,” he said.

However, Okhla observers said possibility of seat swapping with Shoaib Danish, sitting Councillior from Zakir Nagar, cannot be put aside. Also, they pointed out that something is going on Khan has been visiting top Congress office not without reasons, again the claims couldn’t be confirmed by the OT independently.

But these are speculations that many are unwilling to buy. Till then all are keeping their fingers crossed and waiting for the Congress list to be announced.

The other top leaders in the race are Pervez Alam and Engineer Hidatullah urf Gentle. Alam had unsuccessfully contested the last MCD election which was won by AAP’s Wajid Khan. Gentle on other hand was in the AAP and later he joined the Congress and since then he has worked hard to impress upon the voters.
