The situation is under control, he said, adding that the incident took place inside Pizza Bazar at Tikona Park, Okhla Head.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot as many residents also had turned up at the fast-food restaurant at Okhla Head. Injured were admitted to Holy Family Hospital.

The shop is located in the basement of a new building, said residents. A video is doing the rounds which the OT has decided not to share on its platform due to gory details. The video shows overturned vehicles and a bleeding man. Also, people can be seen running for cover. A few men were also seen bleeding.

“A gas cylinder explosion occurred at a fast-food restaurant in Jamia area of South East Delhi, 13 people injured. Fire tenders rushed to the spot. Injured admitted to Holy Family Hospital,” news agency ANI quoted the Delhi Fire officials as saying.

The injured people include Danish, Nadeem, Ajju, Saan Mohd, Bijay and Ikra. “As per the information, an AC compressor exploded in the restaurant, Waffle Mania, Okhla, and the six people who sustained injuries were admitted to the Holy Family hospital,” DCP South East said.

Though it is not yet confirmed what led to the incident but official version is that the blast was caused due to explosion in AC compressor in Waffle Mania, T-84D, Okhla.
Investigation in the incident is on.

Delhi fire service director Atul Garg has been quoted in the media saying a call about the fire was received at 3.49 pm and three fire tender were rushed to the spot.

A neighbour told the OT that he rushed out of his shop and saw a man bleeding and other injured were rushed to the hospital. He said there was no clarity on what led to the blast, cylinder or AC compressor as some work was going on there. Residents were concerned about the development.
