    Delhi cases update: January 9

    Compared to Saturday’s Covid numbers, the national Capital has reported 12 per cent more cases on Sunday at 22,751. Seventeen deaths were also reported from the city which is most Covid fatality in a day since June 16, 2021. The positivity rate stood at 23.53 per cent.

    If on Saturday Delhi saw 20,181 cases, on Friday 17,335 cases and 15,097 reported on Thursday.

    According to the city government health bulletin, 1,800 patients are getting treatment in Covid dedicated hospitals.

    87.43 per cent beds are vacant in dedicated Covid hospitals, said the bulletin.

    Over 300 doctors and medical professionals have tested positive in Delhi in this wave.

    Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Saturday:  “The Delhi government is ready to deal with the most serious situation. Delhi’s health system is fully prepared to prevent this wave and provide timely treatment to all people of the state.”
