Watch: Zakir Nagar gate named on martyr Captain Javed Ali Saifi
A gate in Zakir Nagar was named after martyr Captain Javed Ali Saifi on the Independence Day 20201 on Sunday by councillor Shoaib Danish.
While addressing the Zakir Nagar residents during the ribbon cutting ceremony, Danish highlighted sacrifice made by Captain Javed for the country. Captain Jawed was martyred in 2000 in Srinagar and was laid to rest in Batla House graveyard.
Former Okhla MLA and Rajya Sabha MP Pervez Hashmi was the chief guest of the event.
Born on August 1, 1968, Captain Javed studied at Jamia Millia Islamia from where he completed his BSc in civil engineering. After which he joined the Army as lieutenant in 1995.
Captain Javed’s father and mother have passed away and his uncle continues to reside in the area, said a resident.
