After more than 40 schools across Delhi received bomb threats by email on Friday, the Delhi Police and fire services sprang into action, evacuating students and launching searches. Among them was the Jamia school, where students were swiftly escorted out as a precautionary measure.
A university official confirmed that the Jamia school was evacuated quickly to ensure everyone’s safety, and a thorough investigation is now underway. “Nothing suspicious has been found so far in Jamia school,” he said, adding that students were sent home as a safety measure.
The sudden arrival of police vans on campus and the hurried evacuation left some bystanders and parents puzzled. Many were seen asking, “Why are there so many police vans at Jamia? Why were the students told to leave within 10 minutes?”
Many residents, including parents, panicked as word spread quickly through the locality. Some YouTubers even rushed to the school to cover the event live. One resident said the arrival of police vans alarmed people in the area. However, a source said the evacuation was carried out swiftly and calmly, with top university officials also reaching the school campus. All three Jamia schools run by Jamia Millia Islamia were closed for the day. The university has not yet issued an official statement, and there is speculation that it might have been just a drill.
Residents and parents who were aware of the situation praised the university administration for making the right decision and carrying out a smooth evacuation of the campus. According to media reports, bomb disposal squads and search teams are combing through the affected schools to rule out any threat.

Data from the Karnataka Home Department shows that, during this period, 10 people have been arrested in Bengaluru in connection with these fake threat calls, reported the media.

Police officials urged parents and citizens to remain calm and not fall prey to circulating rumours. While today’s threats appear to be non-credible, the impact on school operations and student safety remains significant, warranting full-scale response protocols, reported NDTV.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has slammed the BJP over the matter. “More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through.
“BJP controls all 4-engines of governance in Delhi, and is yet not able to provide any safety or security to our children! Shocking!” she said in a post on X.
On Thursday, multiple security agencies conducted mock drills at 10 locations to assess their readiness for any emergency.
