Sunday blues! Commuters stuck in traffic jam on Batla House road

It was Sunday and a day to spend time with friends and family members. But for a resident, who got out from his house in Batla House to meet with another family member, faced hardship as he was stuck in the traffic jam.

It was a long one as people told me that it was the result of bus breakdown on the Batla House road very close to Jamia Metro Station, said Rumi, adding that he was lucky to get out after a few minutes of struggle. He said at 9 pm when he was returning back at 9 pm he saw the bus being removed from there by a traffic police. Another resident said the bus was there for more than two hours before it was removed.

Another resident Syed Hashim, who was coming from Jamia Millia Islamia side said after coming to know about the jam triggered due to breakdown of a bus, he took another route to reach his home in Shaheen Bagh.

Many residents were seen walking to reach home and their destination. A resident said one side was fine as at Okhla Head residents coming from wrong side were stopped and the road was not so jam packed with many taking to Tikona Park road avoiding the Batla House-Okhla Head road.

It is not known when the bus was removed from there. This is not the first jam in Jamia Nagar. A few days ago there was one kilometer jam due to breakdown of a bus on Abul Fazal Enclave-Kalindi Kunj road. The road was only cleared after three hours when the bus was removed.
