    Mathematician Prof Ayub gets new important responsibility in Jamia

    Mathematician Prof Ayub gets new top responsibility in Jamia

    Professor Ayub Khan, Head, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia, has got a new responsibility at the top in the university.

    A notice issued by the university on Wednesday reads: “The Vice Chancellor Jamia Millia Islamia in terms of Statute 9(1) of the university, has been pleased to appoint Professor Ayub Khan, Head, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia, as Dean of Students’ Welfare, with immediate effect for a period of three years, or till attaining the age of superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier.”

    In 2019, Professor Ayub also held top position in Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) where he was Pro-Vice-Chancellor when Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz was the Vice Chancellor.

    Later on, in absence of Aslam, he assumed charge of acting Vice Chancellor.

    He did his BSC Mathematics from DU in 1979 and then went on to do MSC, MPhil and PhD from the same university.

    Professor Ayub has 34 years of teaching & research experience.
