Okhla man who took care of all your apparel needs and survived ready-made revolution dies of heart attack

Mahboob Ali, who was a known face in Okhla at least among those who visited his tailoring shop in Ghaffar Manzil to get their clothes stitched, died of heart attack on Friday morning.

Ali, 60 +, suffered heart attack at his home and passed away, said Shakir, a family relative, adding that he was laid to rest in Batla House graveyard after zuhar prayer on Friday.

Born in Rampur of Uttar Pradesh, Ali came to Okhla and since then was into tailoring shop and survived ready-made revolution of the 90 when most tailoring shops faced hardship as youngsters got attracted towards readymade clothes and suits.

“Ali was a hardworking man and a good tailor. Some of my friends got their clothes stitched there and they like it. His shop was behind gali number 1 in Ghaffar Manzil,” said a resident.

Ali continued with his Best to Tailor shop in Ghaffar Manzil which was frequented by the locals and those who loved stitched clothes.  The arrival of Covid in India did hurt his business like others in the national Capital and across the country.

He has left behind two children, said Shakir.
