They came to search my house at 7 am, said Khan.

The ED raided the premises of Khan as part of a money-laundering investigation against him and some others, official sources said, reported the PTI. AAP workers in Batla House said raids were conducted in other places too in Okhla.

The searches were related to a 2016 FIR lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A chargesheet has been filed in the case, which is being heard by a court, reported the news agency.

As the day drew to a close, a considerable number of journalists and TV crews assembled to cover the developing story.

The lane was congested with reporters, loyal supporters of Khan, and personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Delhi Police stationed in the area.

Occasionally, residents passing by the street would stop to inquire about the situation.
One YouTuber said on a humid day, the journalists were patiently waiting for the raid to conclude, which happened at 7 pm. It was only after this that they hurried to get statements from the MLA.

Khan said: “They came to search my house at 7 am. There is nothing in my house. They did not get anything earlier, neither did they get anything this time.”

“They only took away my mobile phone. They opened all the boxes and drawers and rummaged through clothes,” he said.

Khan said he will appear for questioning if the federal agency calls him again.

Khan was arrested by the ACB in September 2022 and he later got bail from a court.

In the meantime, a local resident was seen providing water bottles to those standing in the street, considering the humid conditions.
