Visiting hospital during pandemic? Keep these 6 symptoms in mind

As Covid cases are increasing in Delhi, it has been noticed that people are rushing to the hospital as soon as they test positive, which is increasing the panic.

In an appeal to the people of Delhi, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said if the symptoms are minor, there is no need to go to the hospital.

“Stay at home and a Delhi government team will contact you, and you will be treated in your own home. Only those with severe symptoms should go to the hospital,” he said on Thursday.

According to the new guidelines of the Ministry of Health, the following are the signs of severe symptoms:

    1.         Difficulty in breathing

    2.         Fever of more than 100 Fahrenheit for more than 3 consecutive days

    3.         Decreased oxygen level, (SPO2 below 93% and shortness of breath or breathing rate greater than 24/min)

    4.         Persistent pain/pressure in the chest

    5.         Mental confusion or inability to excite

    6.         Persistent feeling of severe fatigue in the body

The symptoms listed above have been added to the list of severe corona symptoms. Corona patients should visit their nearest corona hospital only if they exhibit the symptoms listed above.

The Health Minister stated: “The strategy of home isolation is very effective; there is no need to panic; only precautions are required to keep ourselves from becoming infected. The Omicron variant is a variant of the corona, and the treatment and prevention protocol is the same as before.”

He urged people to abide by the corona rules, wear masks in public places for safety and to practice social distancing. “Precaution is preferable to cure. Do not leave the house for unessential tasks,” he said.
